With two new team members specialising in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sectors, One Step are now actively recruiting for all specialists positions in the Technical field.
Sam Scriven and Ben O’Brien are now firmly established as our specialist Technical Consultants and have been working closely with a number of clients in the Somerset and wider South West region for 2 months. They have taken over the desk duties from our irreplaceable James Tuckett, our Commercial, and previously Technical, Manager, and are quickly expanding the Tech Desks reach to new clients in new markets.
Sam and Ben’s drive is to be the region’s best 360 Technical recruiter and supply all sizes of businesses, from Small-Medium Enterprises to Multi-National Corporations, with highly skilled and niche candidates across the South West. They look after the whole process of sourcing and hiring staff in the Technical field, from initial client contact through to advertising, sourcing, reference checking, interviewing and contract management, and curate job searches for each client bespoke to their companies’ need.
Sam and Ben have both made significant inroads in placing highly skilled candidates, and One Step have recognised the increasing need for specialist Technical Recruiters in the region – so much so the testimonials are already rolling in:
“Just to say cracking work from you guys on finding Nick, please thank all involved. He seems the perfect fit for us and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the team.”
Martin, Engineering Manager at a SME manufacturing business based in Devon upon the successful hiring of a Service Engineer.
With Hinkley Point C coming to the height of its construction over the next couple of years, One Step understand that there is a risk of significant candidate shortage in the region within the Technical, Electrical, Manufacturing and Engineering fields. Candidate restriction tends to mean pressure loads on existing team members, morale challenges and production arears.
What One Step aim to do is provide a realistic and tangible solution for local Technical and Engineering firms.
The average time for hiring a member of staff in the UK is 27 days; what does this mean for hiring highly skilled staff? What does it mean for hiring highly skilled staff for the local companies losing staff to Europe’s largest engineering and construction project? What do businesses need to do to survive current employment shortages?
This is where we step in.
Sam Scriven, our Senior Technical and Engineering Consultant and most recent addition to the One Step fold has this to say;
“I want to thank all of our current clients for trusting in One Step Recruitment through our recent changes; having worked with the company previously on the temporary industrial desks in Chard and Taunton, I have worked directly with, and know, quite a few of you.
“I would like to ensure all current and future clients that, even in such a difficult market, One Step guarantee a quality and consistent service across the business. Our job is to provide an honest service; and as Ben and I are professional and personable people I am sure that this will come across!”
