It has certainly been a busy week for James here at One Step. In addition to many of our candidates going for interviews with our valued clients, James has been ‘out and about’ supporting local businesses and communities throughout Somerset.
“What a week! Monday began with our weekly commercial team meeting, reviewing our current vacancies and sharing with each other the top candidates they had registered recently. The afternoon was then spent interviewing a selection of commercial consultants for our wonderful new Chard office.
Tuesday was based in our Yeovil branch; there I progress checked-in with both the “new starter” and the client to ensure both parties are happy.
Wednesday was another busy day (!), consisting of my daily morning meeting with the Taunton Commercial team followed by a lovely “Meet the neighbours” Chamber of Commerce networking lunch in Honiton -there I met lots of new contacts and also existing ones, it was really nice to have a good ol’ catch up!
Thursday morning saw me travel to the Robert Blake Science College in Bridgwater to deliver a presentation to school children about CV advice, how to conduct themselves during an interview and social media advice. The pupils were brilliant, very interactive and the feedback was excellent, the students said that they found the session very informative.
This morning (Friday) has seen me back in the Yeovil office for a learning and development day! I have just finished meeting with the assessor from Yeovil College for our Business Administration apprentice Hayley. Hayley’s progress and targets for the next month are now in place and thus far she has been ‘smashing it’.
This was then followed by a monthly conference call with our ongoing staff training provider about staff progress/training needs for consultants over the next month, priorities and quarterly plan.
Next week looks equally as busy with client meetings, networking and GDPR seminars to name just a few!”
Safe to say a bottle of wine and a cosy family weekend is on James’ agenda after yet another productive week at One Step.
